Deep Learning in Image Processing

Deep learning has totally changed the research scenes especially in computer vision and image processing fields. In this tutorial, I will introduce recent deep learning methods applied for image processing. The talk will cover following topics:
  • Deep Learning Overview: Convolutional Neural Network, Generative Adversarial Network
  • Deep Learning for Super-Resolution
  • Deep Learning for Image Translation
  • Deep Learning for Colorization
  • Other related work

Seon Joo Kim received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea, in 1997 and 2001, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, in 2008. He joined the Department of Computer Science, Yonsei University in 2013 and he is currently an associate professor. His research interests include computer vision, computer graphics/computational photography, and machine learning/deep learning. He has served as an area chair for ICCV 2017, WACV 2014/2016, as a student grant chair for ECCV 2014, and will serve as a poster chair for CVPR 2018.
